Every person has their own opinion and misbelieves regarding knee pain and osteoarthritis (also known as Gathiya). These are some of the common misconceptions/myths about knee pain. And we give you the facts for these myths:
Myth 1: Most people think that injury to the knee is the only cause of knee pain.
Fact: If you are having knee pain while climbing stairs, knee inflammation, or pain in both knees, it does not mean that it is because of an injury. There are many other causes like- rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, septic arthritis, kneecap problem, etc.

Myth 2: Exercises are not for people with knee pain.
Fact: Not doing exercises will increase the pain and stiffness of your knee joints. Some simple exercises like stretching exercises, isometric exercises, range of motion exercises, stepping, squatting, and many others will help you in gaining muscle strength and reduce the pain and stiffness.
Myth 3: Growing age is the cause of your knee pain.
Fact: Many people who are over their 40s feel mild knee pain and morning stiffness, the common reason behind this is degenerative changes in the knee joint. But with exercises, lifestyle changes, and regeneration medicine you can control and revert the situation and increase your joint life.

Myth 4: Diet changes can manage knee pain.
Fact: There is no direct answer to it. If you are overweight then you can control your weight with dietary restriction, but only dietary changes will not help you with knee pain.
Myth 5: At present, there is no alternative solution for knee pain other than surgery.
Fact: That’s not true. Treatment always depends on the joint condition if the joint condition is in the early stage it can be treated with regenerative medicine. Physiotherapy will also help in strengthening the muscles around the knee joint.
